AGuaS is a grass roots effort to build a bridge between the citizens of Santa Cruz County and the citizens of Cuba. As part of that effort, the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors has adopted a sister municipality ("county") in the south of Cuba: Guamá. In January and March of this year, delegations from Santa Cruz County visited Guamá to develop projects for collaboration and citizen diplomacy. These areas include: Education, Sustainable energy, Healing Arts (Health), Culture, Sustainable agriculture.

Projects have been identified in each of these areas. AGuaS members have met with their Cuban counterparts and are working to develop programs that serve our mutual needs. Through this citizen diplomacy, we believe that we can build a better understanding between Cuba and our country.
